Useful Information

  • It is essential to keep all opening sections of the windows and doors closed during the building operation, to avoid cement and sand from fouling the working mechanism, this will also assist in eliminating sash warping and damage frames.

  • Support lintels above all windows and doors are a definite recommendation when building with wood. If the window's span is more than 2m wide, then supports should be used between the lintel and the windows sill until curing is complete. The windows and doors should at no stage carry the weight of bricks and wet mortar.

  • After the building program is complete, the windows should be cleaned and lightly sanded to remove all cement and paint stains, then correctly sealed as per specification. This will ensure that your investment lasts a lifetime and will always be appealing to the eye.

  • All wooden windows, sliding doors and entrance units are produced from the finest materials available, suitable for South African climate. Careful inspections are carried out during the manufacturing process ensuring that you receive the quality product that you deserve.

  • All sliding doors are accurately manufactured from kiln dried Meranti using the latest method of design and construction, which include aluminum track and solid brass rollers to ensure hassle free operation.

  • When installing windows and sliding doors, please ensure that the rebated section designed for glass installation is always positioned on the outside.

  • Sliding doors and folding doors should be recessed into the floor by 55mm, to achieve a level surface after the tiles or carpet have been laid. The bottom frame should not protrude above the finished floor level, otherwise this wouldcreate a hazard when walking in and out of the opening, and could result in tripping over the protruding section.

  • 1. Lintels must be used above sliding doors/sliding folding doors and sufficient clearance allowed between the lintels and frame, at least 10mm, to prevent downward pressure     from above bowing the frame.

    2. The vertical spacing,, between the post and the slider must be checked regularly during  intalment and must remain constant.

    3. Ground levels must be 100% level as illustrated in Fig. C- (Any small object will cause the frame to bow and this will have affect on the door operation)

    4. All four sides of the outer frame must be sealed prior to installation.

    5. Its advisable to fit water-proofing membrane (DPC) between the floor and the frame.
